General
The ROBOTIS Dynamixel Pro Servos have different power values, dimensions and interfaces and therefore cover a wide field of possible apllications. The Dynmaixel Pro M54-40-S250-R has an epicyclic gearing aswell as an integrated encoder that enables up to 251 400 steps/pulse. Furthermore the Dynamixel Pro servos have following special functions::
- current sensor for force control
- control algorithm for speed, position and voltage regulation
- PID-Controller for intern position control
The communication between the servomotor and the controling unit can be realised via the ROBOTIS Dynamixel U2D2, the ROBOTIS OpenCR1.0 Entwicklungsboard or a variety of other Dynamixel Pro / RS485 compatible control units. One thing that should be kept in mind is, that the working voltage is 24 volt.
