The Pixhawk® 5X is the latest update to the successful Pixhawk® flight control family, based on the Pixhawk® FMUv5X Open Standard and the Pixhawk® Autopilot Bus Standard. It is pre-installed with the latest PX4 Autopilot®, triple redundant, temperature controlled and with isolated sensor domain offering incredible performance and reliability.

Inside the Pixhawk® 5X is an STM32F7 from STMicroelectronics®, paired with Bosch® InvenSense® sensor technology, which offers you versatility and reliability within the control of any autonomous vehicle that is interoperable for both academic and commercial applications. The Pixhawk® 5X's F7 microcontroller has 2 MB of flash memory and 512 KB of RAM. The PX4 autopilot takes advantage of the increased power and RAM. The improved processing power allows developers to function more productively and effectively, designing complex algorithms and packages.

The open FMUv5X standard includes powerful, low-noise IMUs on board to ensure better stabilisation. Triple redundant IMU and double redundant barometer on unique buses. If the PX4 autopilot detects a sensor failure, the structure seamlessly switches to another to assure flight control reliability.

An independent LDO feeds each set of sensors with independent power control. A newly developed vibration isolation filters out high-frequency vibrations and reduces noise to ensure accurate readings, enabling the vehicles to achieve better overall flight performance. The unassociated sensor bus (SPI5) has two chip select lines and data ready signals for alternate sensors and payloads with SPI interfaces, and an embedded Microchip Ethernet PHY (LAN8742AI-CZ-TR) promotes high-speed communications with mission computers via Ethernet. Two smart battery monitoring ports (SMBus), support for INA226 SMBus power module.
