ArduCAM 12MP IMX477 MINI HQ Camera

The ArduCAM team has released a series of camera modules for the Raspberry Pi, including 5MP and 8MP modules. They are fully compatible with the official version and are divided into Standard Version, Optimised Optical Performance Version, Miniature Spy Camera Version, NoIR Version, Motorised IR Cut Version and Programmable Motorised Focus Camera Version. These camera modules support all Raspberry Pi models and require a 15-to-22 pin cable or adapter to work with the Pi Zero.

This Arducam 12MP IMX477 camera module for Raspberry Pi has the same camera board size and mounting holes as the Raspberry Pi camera module V2, so no major hardware changes are required to ditch your 8MP IMX219 and adopt Arducam. Applications with space and weight constraints, such as drones, also benefit from the IMX477 camera, as it offers the same image capture performance and control commands as the official Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera, while being much smaller, lighter, and having interchangeable M12 lenses.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE IMX477 MIPI LANES
The IMX477 camera module supports 4 lanes in hardware, but the 4-lane camera driver requires additional customization:

• Standard Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano/Xavier NX cannot physically support 4-lane connection (both have only 2-lane CSI connectors). Only the Raspberry Pi Compute Module and some third-party Jetson Carrier boards have 4-lane hardware support. Therefore, this is not a general necessity.
• For a 4-lane connection, additional work, especially camera drivers, are required besides the physical 4-lane connection. And the drivers are limited by the performance of the platform itself. For example, 4-Lane cannot unlock 4k video on the Raspberry Pi because the VideoCore does not currently support it. The Jetson Nano is also limited to some extent by its encoding capabilities. You need to make sure that you really need it.
