The ZED X Nano is a compact stereo camera designed for robotic applications and physical AI, specifically engineered for precise short-range 3D perception. It combines high-resolution image sensors with AI-based depth sensing, enabling reliable object detection, positioning, and real-time interaction.
The camera features two global shutter RGB sensors with 2.3 megapixels each and supports video and depth data streams at up to 120 frames per second. This makes it particularly suitable for dynamic applications such as pick-and-place, grasping, and autonomous manipulation.
A key feature is the integrated Neural Depth Engine, which enables highly accurate 3D depth perception with sub-millimeter precision. The effective depth range is typically between approximately 3 cm and 2 m, making the camera ideal for precise robotic tasks.
Data transmission is handled via a robust GMSL2 interface, providing low-latency, high-speed communication designed specifically for industrial robotic systems. In addition, the camera includes an integrated 6-axis IMU (accelerometer and gyroscope) for motion and orientation tracking.
Thanks to its compact and robust design, the ZED X Nano is particularly well suited for mounting on robot arms, end-effectors, or humanoid systems. It supports modern software frameworks such as ROS, NVIDIA Isaac, and the ZED SDK, enabling seamless integration into existing robotics platforms.
The ZED X Nano is an ultra-compact stereo camera specifically developed for physical AI and deployment in robotic systems with limited installation space. Its small form factor makes it ideal for integration into humanoid systems, especially in wrist-mounted or end-effector applications.
With a baseline of 18 mm and a depth range of 3 cm to 2 m, the camera provides exceptionally high precision at close distances. This makes it ideal for demanding tasks such as precise grasping, manipulation, and eye-hand coordination. Mounting at the wrist allows direct visibility of manipulated objects and avoids occlusions that can occur with head-mounted sensors.
