UFactory 850 and xArm(1305 version) Series Servo Firmware Update to V5.0.8
We wish to inform you of an urgent firmware update now available for the UFactory 850 and xArm 1305 series. This update addresses a serious bug identified during the transition between manual mode and position mode, where the arm may experience uncontrolled fast movements, posing a risk of self-collision. This issue has been fully resolved in firmware version V5.0.8, which implements a new, optimized servo algorithm to ensure your systems operate safely and reliably. We strongly encourage all users of the UFactory 850 and xArm 1305 series to immediately update their firmware to avoid potential risks and maintain safe operation. Please review the information below and follow the instructions to perform this critical update.
For example:
- For UFactory 850, the third and fourth digits should be 85, and the fifth digit should be 0.
- Example: FX850108A32D00 (850 series)
- Example: FX850108A32D01 (850 series)
- For xArm 1305, the third and fourth digits should be 13, and the fifth and sixth digits should be 0 and 5 respectively.
- Example: XI130512C23L13 (1305 series)
- Example: XI130512C23L19 (1305 series)
If your SN matches this criteria, please proceed with the firmware update by following the instructions below.
How to Upgrade the Joint Firmware of xArm 1304 Series
- Download the firmware tool using the link above.
- Launch xarm-tool-gui-win-amd64-2.15.2.exe on a Windows system.
- Enter the IP address of the robot and click [Connect]. It will display the current servo version (e.g., V5.0.7) as shown in the image below.
- Switch to [1300/850 Test Tool], select "Driver board for all joints", and click [Get Joint SN]. It will display the serial number (SN) of each joint.
- Click [Install driver], press down the E-STOP button and release it, then click [Next].
- Reconnect the arm and verify the updated servo version.


The tool will automatically load the joint firmware from ...\resources\firmwares\850_1305board. Wait for 1-2 minutes while the arm reboots itself.


After the reboot, the servo version should now be V5.0.8.
