Description

ARK Avionics Breakout – Adapter from Molex Pico-Clasp to Pixhawk Standard

The ARK Avionics Breakouts bring the 40-pin Molex Pico-Clasp connectors of modern avionics carriers back to the familiar JST-GH sockets of the Pixhawk standard. Instead of building your own wiring harnesses, you simply plug in GPS, telemetry, CAN nodes and servos directly – exactly as you know it from any Pixhawk setup.

Both boards weigh only a few grams and measure roughly 24 × 24 mm and 28 × 24 mm respectively. That makes them easy to fit into tightly packed drone and robotics frames where a large adapter no longer has room.

Your advantages at a glance

  • No harness building required: ready-made transition from Molex Pico-Clasp 40-pin to Pixhawk standard JST-GH
  • Cable included: the matching 40-pin Molex Pico-Clasp cable comes with every board
  • Minimal footprint: 4 g and 5 g respectively, at just under 1 cm in height
  • Two complementary variants: Primary for the main peripherals, Secondary for redundancy and expansion
  • Made in the USA: ARK Electronics manufactures entirely in the United States

ARK Primary Avionics Breakout

The Primary Breakout serves the flight controller’s main interfaces: primary GPS, first telemetry link, CAN bus, RC receiver and PWM outputs.

Avionics connector Molex Pico-Clasp, 40 pin (Primary)
PWM JST-GH, 10 pin
TELEM1 JST-GH, 6 pin
GPS1 JST-GH, 10 pin
CAN1 JST-GH, 4 pin
RC INPUT JST-GH, 3 pin
Dimensions 24.2 × 24.25 × 9.86 mm
Weight 4 g

ARK Secondary Avionics Breakout

The Secondary Breakout opens up the second layer: redundant GPS, an additional telemetry line, JCAN, SPI for extra sensors and an SBUS output.

Avionics connector Molex Pico-Clasp, 40 pin (Secondary)
PWM JST-GH, 10 pin
TELEM3 JST-GH, 6 pin
GPS2 JST-GH, 6 pin
JCAN JST-GH, 4 pin
SPI JST-GH, 11 pin
SBUS OUT JST-GH, 3 pin
Dimensions 28.25 × 24.2 × 9.86 mm
Weight 5 g

Typical applications

  • Building and wiring UAV avionics to the Pixhawk standard
  • Prototyping with changing peripherals without new wiring harnesses
  • Redundant GPS and telemetry setups
  • Connecting additional sensors via SPI and CAN

Scope of delivery

  • 1× ARK Avionics Breakout in the selected variant
  • 1× Molex Pico-Clasp cable, 40-pin
