The Dobot VX500 Smart Camera is a compact machine-vision camera for precise robot guidance. It combines a 5-megapixel CMOS camera with global shutter, an integrated LED light source and Dobot's in-house 2.5D space compensation for a positioning accuracy of ±0.26 mm.

Thanks to its 2.5D space-compensation technology, the camera reliably detects both horizontal and tilted angles of the target object (up to ±0.5 mm on inclined surfaces). This makes it possible to handle demanding scenarios with uneven floors or unordered objects – ideal for inclined surfaces, assembly, AMR/AMMR robot transport and loading/unloading tasks.

In a single device, the VX500 combines several algorithms for tasks such as material positioning, barcode and character recognition, width and diameter measurement and grayscale measurement. Set-up is done via the operating software DobotStudioPro with graphical programming – easy to learn and without elaborate development work.
