The LIPS LIPSedge™ S315 is an HD active stereo 3D depth camera with an integrated edge AI computing unit. It combines high-resolution stereo vision with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor, 1 GB DDR4 RAM, and 8 GB internal storage in a compact, versatile platform for demanding machine vision and robotics applications. Typical use cases include facial recognition, pick-and-place robotics, 3D inspection, smart logistics, autonomous mobile robots (AMR), and humanoid robotics.
The S315 features enhanced optics and depth image processing to suppress noise while improving precision per depth pixel. A built-in 6-axis IMU (BOSCH BMI088) enables accurate position and motion tracking for spatial computing applications. Neural network applications can be executed directly on the camera via the embedded edge AI SoC – without any external computing unit. The persistent USB connection automatically recovers from short interruptions (under 15 seconds) without requiring a restart.
The S315 supports Windows 10/11 and Ubuntu 20.04/22.04/24.04 LTS on Intel (x86) and NVIDIA Jetson (ARM) platforms. The LIPSedge SDK supports Python, C, C++, C#, Java, and further languages, as well as OpenNI, OpenCV, ROS/ROS2, NVIDIA Isaac, and Halcon.
