Description

General

The Lightware SF20 Series consist of very compact and lightweight 1D/2D-LiDAR systems with a measuring range of 0,2m . 100m (depending on the Version) with a low tolerancy of only +/-1cm.

Difference between LW20 & SF20 Series

The LW20 LiDAR different when compared with the SF20 series is the protection class. The SF20 has no protection class or IP standart and has therefore a very small weight of only 10g making it very suitable for OEM applications.

Dimensions

Due to the small dimension of only: 29,9 x 30,2 x 19,5mm the SF20 LiDAr fits into almost every application.

Communication & Configuration

The SF20 has both a 3.3V UART and an I2C bus, which allows it to be integrated into QGroundControl or Mission Planner within a very short time, as well as to be configured and used with a computer via FTDI converter.
In the graphical Lightware interface it is possible to make the following configurations in addition to basic settings such as baud rate, interface, etc:

  • Laser - Distance measurement, Communikation & Encoding
  • Servo - Usage of a PWM servo to build a 270° 2D-LiDAR
  • Sweep - Regulates the software limitation of scans
  • Alarm - 2D-Alarm (Obstacle Avoidance)
