  • ArduCam cameras for the NVIDIA Jetson Developer Kits
  • 12 megapixel camera with IMX477 sensor
  • 3D printable mount (see downloads)
  • Pixel size: 1.55um x 1.55um
  • Interface: 2-lane MIPI CSI-2

Description

To allow a high quality camera module to be used in applications with size and weight constraints, Arducam has just released this small camera module for Jetson Nano/Xavier NX.
This is fully compatible with the Raspberry Pi V2 module size, a 24mm x 25mm IMX477P camera board and a low distortion M12 mount lens. Use these camera modules on any Jetson Nano/Xavier NX native with hardware ISP functions.

This camera relies on kernel drivers to work - one kernel version, one camera driver.

  • Versions older than JetPack 4.3 (L4T 32.3.1) are not supported.
  • Upgrading or downgrading your operating system will result in a kernel bump, and you will need to reinstall a matching driver.
  • Future JetPack/Kernel updates will require future drivers. If this happens, please give us some time to process it. And if you don't see it in time, please remind us.

NOTE ABOUT THE IMX477 MIPI LANES.
The IMX477 camera module supports 4 lanes in hardware, but the 4-lane camera driver requires additional customization. Here is why:

  • Standard Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano/Xavier NX cannot physically support 4-lane connection (both have only 2-lane CSI connectors). Only the Raspberry Pi Compute Module and some third-party Jetson Carrier boards have 4-lane hardware support. Therefore, this is not a general necessity.
  • A 4-lane connection requires additional work, especially camera drivers, besides the physical 4-lane connection. And the drivers are limited by the performance of the platform itself. For example, 4-Lane cannot unlock 4k video on the Raspberry Pi because the VideoCore does not currently support it. The Jetson Nano is also limited to some extent by its encoding capabilities. You need to make sure that you really need it.
