Description

The Benewake TF-UW500 is a compact underwater single-point LiDAR based on dToF (direct Time-of-Flight) technology. It combines the proven compact form factor and low power consumption of its predecessor with a tenfold increase in detection range in clear water – enabling underwater robots to achieve significant advances in both precise mapping and stable positioning.

Featuring an eye-safe Class 1 visible laser with a small laser spot and excellent directionality, the TF-UW500 minimises multipath interference and offers clear performance advantages over traditional ultrasonic sensors. With centimetre-level accuracy and millimetre-level repeatability, it enables full coordinate positioning and mapping in most residential pools – allowing robots to move straighter, steadier, and more efficiently, with significantly improved cleaning coverage.

A combination of hardware-level filtering and advanced anti-glare algorithms ensures stable performance even under strong ambient light or in turbid water. Calibrated across more than 10 common pool materials, the TF-UW500 delivers consistent measurement accuracy and smooth, drift-free underwater navigation.
