Luxonis OAK 4 CS

Luxonis OAK 4 CS

  • IP65 protection rating
  • 6-core CPU, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage
  • Up to 52 TOPS of AI Performance

Description

The Luxonis OAK 4 CS is an industrial-grade AI camera that runs neural networks entirely on the device – without a connected host computer and without a cloud connection. It is based on the RVC4 platform with the Qualcomm DragonWing QCS8550: six ARM cores, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and up to 52 TOPS of compute power for inference.

What sets the CS version apart is its interchangeable CS-mount optics. Field of view and working distance can be matched to the application through the choice of lens, rather than being fixed by a permanently installed one.

The camera is available in two sensor variants. The Sony IMX586 with 48 MP and a rolling shutter plays to its strengths wherever resolution matters – detecting small features, reading labels or inspecting larger fields of view. The OmniVision OG05B10 with 5 MP and a global shutter exposes all image rows simultaneously and therefore delivers distortion-free images of moving objects – the right choice for fast conveyor lines, moving platforms and any application in which the rolling shutter effect would distort the measurement. All other properties are identical across both versions.

Power and data are supplied either via USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2) or via the M12 Ethernet port with PoE+ and 2.5 Gbit/s. A 9-axis IMU, an M8 expansion port for GPIO, UART and frame synchronisation, and the Linux-based Luxonis OS complete the package. The Luxonis Hub allows models to be deployed remotely and multiple devices to be monitored in operation.

Applications

  • Quality control and optical inspection
  • Object detection and tracking in manufacturing and intralogistics
  • Robot guidance and pick-and-place applications
  • Mobile robotics and autonomous platforms
  • Traffic and facility monitoring with variable working distance
  • Development and evaluation of edge AI applications

Highlights

  • Up to 52 TOPS of AI performance directly on the device – no host computer required
  • Interchangeable CS-mount optics for a freely selectable field of view and working distance
  • Two sensor variants: 48 MP rolling shutter or 5 MP global shutter
  • 6-core CPU, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage based on the Qualcomm QCS8550
  • PoE+ via M12 at 2.5 Gbit/s or USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 – power and data over a single cable
  • 9-axis IMU for orientation and motion data
  • M8 expansion port for GPIO, UART, USB 2.0 and frame synchronisation
  • IP65 protection with the lens fitted
  • Luxonis OS on a Linux basis, compatible with the Luxonis Hub for remote management and deployment
