IP67 Set for Outdoor and Industrial Applications

This set is designed for harsh environments and supports Non-Inverse Architecture (NIA). Details can be found in the Architectures Comparison section: the mobile beacon transmits ultrasound while the stationary beacons receive it. Note: the same hardware can also be used for Inverse Architecture after uploading the Inverse Architecture software to the modem, stationary, and mobile beacons.

The hardware currently supports two frequency bands:

• License-free ISM band 915 MHz for the USA
• License-free SRD band 868 MHz for the EU and other countries
• Support for 433 MHz will be available on a different hardware variant in the future. Please check your country’s local regulations.

Use Cases

• 3D Outdoor: Tracking an autonomous robot/drone or a forklift or other object over an area up to 1,000 m²
• 2D Outdoor: Tracking an autonomous robot or a forklift or other object over an area up to 1,500 m²

Expansion Options

• Increase coverage area by adding more Industrial-RX or Mini-RX-IP67 stationary beacons
• Track more mobile objects by adding more Industrial-TX or Super-Beacons-Outdoor

Industrial-RX (Stationary Beacons)

• Integrated 6D IMU (3D gyroscope + 3D accelerometer)
• RX-only: Receives ultrasound but does not transmit – higher sensitivity and longer range than standard Beacons HW v4.9
• Supports ultrasound frequencies: 19 kHz, 25 kHz, 31 kHz, 37 kHz, 45 kHz, selectable via the Dashboard
• Can receive multiple frequencies simultaneously (used in Inverse Architecture)
• More robust and rigid than HW v4.9
• Additional interfaces: RS485, UART, optional CAN
• External +12V power supply or long-life batteries (1–3 years depending on update rate and battery size)
• External antenna for extended radio coverage

Industrial-TX (Mobile Beacon)

• IP67-protected, rugged for outdoor use
• TX-only: Transmits ultrasound but does not receive
• Transmission frequency: 25 kHz (default for HW v4.9 is 31 kHz)
• Additional interfaces: RS485, UART, optional CAN
• 10× more energy-efficient per location update than HW v4.9
• External +5V or +12V power supply or long-life batteries (1–3 years depending on update rate and battery size)
• Fully compatible with HW v4.9 Beacons in any combination

Marvelmind Indoor Navigation System

• Ready-to-use navigation system providing precise location data (±2 cm) for autonomous robots, vehicles (AGV), drones, or forklifts. Can also track other objects with a mobile beacon installed, e.g., VR systems, helmets for construction workers or miners, jackets, etc.
• Based on stationary ultrasonic beacons connected via license-free radio bands (915/868 MHz or 433 MHz)
• Location calculated using Time-of-Flight (TOF) of ultrasonic signals with trilateration
• 3D Tracking (X, Y, Z): unobstructed line of sight/hearing to at least three stationary beacons
• 2D Tracking (X, Y): unobstructed line of sight/hearing to at least two stationary beacons
• Recommended distance to nearest 2–3 beacons: max 30 m (up to 50 m in ideal conditions)

Scope of delivery

• 4 × Industrial-RX Beacons (stationary)
• 1 × Industrial-TX-25 Beacon with 25 kHz transducers (mobile)
• 1 × Modem HW v5.1-Outdoor

Note: Beacons do not contain batteries, as they are designed for low-temperature operation where LiPo batteries perform poorly. By default, an external +12V power supply is recommended (peak current up to 1 A, average consumption ~10 mW at 1 Hz update rate), e.g., Converter-220V-12V-IP67. Shipping is handled via Shipping & Handling Fee (Complexity I).
