Phidgets Power Guard Phidget 30V 5A

  • Maximum continuous current: 5 A
  • Supply voltage: 0–30 V DC
  • Protection module for DC power supply systems

Description

The Power Guard Phidget 30V 5A is a protection module for DC power systems. It is connected between the power supply and the load (e.g. motor controller or motor) and protects the connected electronics from voltage spikes and back current that commonly occur when operating motors or inductive loads.

When a voltage spike is detected, the module limits or diverts excess energy, preventing it from flowing back into the power supply or other components. This helps avoid damage to controllers or sensors.

The device requires no configuration and is simply integrated into the power line.

Typical Applications

  • Protection of motor controllers
  • Robotics and automation systems
  • Electronic controls with DC motors
  • Protection of laboratory power supplies or embedded systems
