Fictionlab Panthera-HT

  • Complete integration kit for the Leo Rover
  • Self-contained 24 V supply – no load on the rover’s 12 V on-board power
  • 6 axes, 650 mm reach, 1.5 kg payload with ROS 2 Jazzy and MoveIt 2 out of the box

Description

The Panthera-HT from High Torque Robotics is a 6-axis robotic arm supplied as a complete integration kit for the Leo Rover. Instead of designing adapter plates, decoupling the power supply and configuring the kinematics from scratch, you receive a fully matched unit – mechanically, electrically and in software.

At the core of the integration is the self-contained 24 V power supply. The arm draws its power from a separate battery pack and therefore places no load on the Leo Rover’s 12 V bus or on its traction and logic supply. This is exactly where many in-house builds fail: a high-torque 24 V arm on a 12 V platform otherwise leads quickly to voltage drops or overloaded batteries.

The supplied mounting deck is manufactured specifically for the Leo Rover and combines three functions in a single part: frame attachment, housing for the arm’s low-level controller, and a bay for the 24 V battery. On the software side, ROS 2 Jazzy and MoveIt 2 are included with pre-calibrated URDF models and ready-made planning configurations, so collision-free trajectory planning is available out of the box.

CAD models, pinout documentation and the ROS 2 drivers are openly accessible. Modifications of your own are explicitly intended – there are no warranty seals standing in your way.

Applications

  • Autonomous mobile manipulation: navigation with Nav2 combined with arm control via MoveIt 2 – opening door handles, turning valves, operating switches
  • Remote sample collection: equipping research rovers with end effectors for soil, water or environmental samples without limiting platform uptime
  • Facility inspection and maintenance: automated positioning of NDT sensors, gas detectors or thermal cameras on elevated structures
  • Research and prototyping: a ready-to-use hardware base for developing mobile manipulators in industry and university laboratories

Highlights

  • Self-contained 24 V supply – no load on the Leo Rover’s 12 V on-board power
  • Single-piece mounting deck with frame attachment, controller housing and battery bay
  • 6 degrees of freedom with 650 mm reach and 1.5 kg payload
  • Repeatability of ±0.2 mm
  • ROS 2 Jazzy and MoveIt 2 with pre-calibrated URDF models and trajectory planning out of the box
  • Open architecture: CAD data, pinouts and driver repositories freely accessible, no warranty seals
  • Saves months of development work on adapters, power isolation and kinematics
