Description

LinkerBot YCB Object Set – Standardized Benchmark Set for Grasping and Manipulation Research

The YCB Object Set (Yale-CMU-Berkeley Object and Model Set) is the globally established standard for benchmarking robotic grasping and manipulation tasks. The set comprises carefully selected everyday objects from the categories food items, kitchenware, tools, and geometric shapes – each with precisely documented physical properties such as mass, dimensions, and material.

Combined with the Linker Hand dexterous hands (e.g. L6, O7, L10, L20, L30), the set provides the ideal foundation for reproducible experiments in grasping, imitation learning, teleoperation, and training data collection for Embodied AI applications.

Highlights

  • Established benchmark standard in robotics research (Yale, CMU, UC Berkeley)
  • Diverse object categories: food items, kitchenware, tools, geometric shapes
  • Precisely documented physical properties (mass, dimensions, material)
  • Freely available digital models (high-resolution RGB-D scans and 3D meshes) for simulation environments such as ROS, Gazebo, or Isaac Sim
  • Comparable and reproducible evaluation of grasping algorithms across labs and platforms
  • Ideal accessory for the Linker Hand series as well as humanoid platforms and robot arms with multi-finger end effectors

Applications

  • Benchmarking of grasping and manipulation algorithms
  • Imitation learning and policy training for dexterous hands
  • Teleoperation and data collection for Embodied AI
  • Teaching and research at universities and institutes

Nahezu jedes Robotik.- oder allgemein Elektronikprojekt benötigt eine gewisse Logik. Diese Logik kann entweder durch aktive Bauelemente oder ganze Entwicklungsboards erreicht werden.
