Stereo Depth Perception

This OAK camera features a baseline of 7.5 cm, which is the distance between the left and right stereo cameras. The minimum and maximum depth measurement (MinZ and MaxZ) is influenced by the field of view (FOV), resolution, and baseline of the camera.

  • Recommended depth range: 70 cm – 12 m
  • Minimum depth measurement:
    • ~20 cm (at 400P with extended configuration)
    • ~35 cm (at 400P OR 800P with extended configuration)
    • ~70 cm (at 800P)
  • Depth Measurement Accuracy
    • Up to 4 m: Absolute depth error below 2%
    • 4 m – 7 m: Absolute depth error below 4%
    • 7 m – 10 m: Absolute depth error below 6%

Infrared (IR) Detection

  • This product complies with international safety standards for Class 1 laser products according to EN/IEC 60825-1, Edition 3 (2014).

Active Stereo Technology

  • Uses the Himax Dot-Pattern Infrared Illuminator
  • An IR dot projector enhances depth perception, particularly on surfaces with low optical texture, by projecting thousands of infrared points onto the scene.

Night Vision Mode

  • An IR illumination LED enables AI and computer vision algorithms to function even in low-light or completely dark environments.

Connectivity & Interfaces

  • Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)
  • The camera supports 802.3at PoE (Class 3) and enables 2.5GBASE-T data transfers at speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps (depending on network infrastructure).
  • For optimal PoE functionality, a PoE switch is recommended.
  • M12-PoE connector for power and 2.5 Gbps data transfer
  • M8 connector for I/O connectivity, including:
  • USB2 (D+, D-)
  • Camera I/Os (FSIN, STROBE)

Power supply

  • 2x GPIOs (can also be used for UART)
  • Protective cap for the M8 connector to ensure water resistance when not in use
  • Alternatively, the camera features a USB-C interface (USB 3.2 Gen2, 10 Gbps) as an additional power and data source.
  • Both connection methods can be used simultaneously.

Operational Features & Environmental Resistance

  • Water & Dust Protection
  • IP67-certified housing, protecting the camera from water and dust

Power Consumption

  • 1.5 W – 25 W (depending on usage scenario)

Operating Temperature Range

  • -20 °C to +50 °C

Vibration Resistance

  • Complies with EN 60068-2-6:2008
  • Meets ISO 15998:2008, Section 7.2.3, Table 1

Scope of delivery

  • 1x OAK 4 D Pro
