Xsens MTi-610 - Industrial Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)

 

The Xsens MTi-610 is a high-performance all-in-one inertial measurement unit from the MTi-600 series by Xsens/Movella. It provides calibrated data on the 3D rate of turn, acceleration and magnetic field - with the factory calibration across the entire operating temperature range that is typical of Xsens. The sensor is therefore suitable for demanding applications such as service robotics, autonomous vehicles, AGVs/AMRs, 3D mapping, drones and platform stabilisation.

The MTi-610 is designed as a pure IMU and outputs calibrated raw sensor data along with an integrated strapdown integration (SDI). For applications that additionally require orientation output (roll, pitch, yaw) or GNSS-aided position estimation, sister modules in the same form factor are available: MTi-620 (VRU), MTi-630 (AHRS) and MTi-670 (GNSS/INS).

The sensor is lightweight and compact (28 × 31.5 × 13 mm, 8.9 g) and can either be soldered directly onto a PCB with the connector header facing down or operated as a standalone module via a flat cable. Within this segment, the MTi-600 series is one of the few IMUs offering native CAN bus alongside UART and RS232, which considerably simplifies integration into industrial and mobile platforms.

For configuration and data analysis, the MT Software Suite is available free of charge. It includes the graphical MT Manager, the MT SDK with example code for C, C++, C#, MATLAB, Python, ROS and Nucleo/STM32 boards, and the Magnetic Field Mapper for in-situ magnetic calibration.
