  • Up to 14 PWM outputs, PPM/S.Bus input

Description

Navio2 – autopilot HAT for Raspberry Pi with ArduPilot and ROS

The Navio2 is an autopilot add-on board (HAT) for the Raspberry Pi that turns the single-board computer into a fully fledged flight controller for drones and other unmanned vehicles. The Raspberry Pi runs the autopilot software, while the Navio2 provides all the required sensors and interfaces.

On board are two 9-axis IMUs (MPU9250 and LSM9DS1), a high-resolution MS5611 barometer with 10 cm altitude resolution and a u-blox M8N GNSS receiver for GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and SBAS. A Cortex-M3 co-processor generates the PWM signals for motors and servos and decodes PPM or S.Bus RC signals.

Since the system runs on Linux, ArduPilot and ROS can be operated directly on the same computer – ideal for research, teaching and custom development. The preconfigured Raspbian image comes with ArduPilot, ROS, DroneKit and GStreamer preinstalled.
