Description

The Weighing Scale Kit is a compact, easy-to-assemble weighing system with an anodized aluminium frame and three interchangeable micro load cells (780 g, 5 kg, 25 kg). The top and bottom plates of the aluminium frame are mounted at either end of the load cell; a load placed on the surface creates a shear force in the cell, and the measured value is proportional to the weight of the object. After a simple two-point calibration, accurate weight measurements can be calculated.

The load cells are read via a bridge interface (e.g. PhidgetBridge 4-Input or Wheatstone Bridge Phidget). Two known reference weights are sufficient for calibration; the linear output of the cells allows straightforward mathematical conversion into grams or other units.

Note: The 780 g cell has thin joints at its ends and is vulnerable to damage if loaded above 780 g. For applications where the weight range is uncertain, the 5 kg cell is recommended.
