The ROBOTIS OpenMANIPULATOR PRO RM-P60-RNH is an robotic arm designed for industrial research tasks and has both a high payload and a high repeatability.
The OpenMANIPULATOR PRO is provided with 6DOF (Degrees of Freedom) wich are realised with DYNAMIXEL PRO+ servomotors. Therefore the MANIPULATOR PRO has a payload of 3kg and a repeatability of 0,05mm.


The implemented DYNAMIXEL Pro+ Servomotors have a high torque of up to 44,7N and are furthermore provided with integrated power electronics, wich processes the in- and outgoing 8bit data aswell as assessing the contactless absoult-Encoder and controlling the brushless motor.
Therefore there is no need of an external motordriver or controlling electronic, there is only a Host PC required to run the computing operations. 


For the communication between the OpenMANIPULATOR and the Host there is the possibility to use either the ROBOTIS U2D2 or the OpenCR1.0. The robotic arm is fully implemented in the Middleware ROS and has a 3D modell created in Gazebo wich can be used for simulations.


The ROBOTIS Dynamixel Pro+ Servomotors are provided with different power values, dimensions and interfaces and therefore provide a large variety. The Dynamixel Pro+ H54P-200-S500R  has a epicyclic gearing and an integrated Encoder wich enable up to 1 003 846 steps. In addition to that the Dynamixel Pro servomotor has been equipped with several special funtions such as:

  • Performance sensor to adjust the torque
  • Controling algorithm to control the speed, position and current 
  • PID-controller for internal position control and correction
