DAMIAO 43 USB-CAN Driver Board
The DAMIAO 43 USB-CAN Driver Board is a compact USB-to-CAN interface board developed specifically for the commissioning, configuration and debugging of joint motors from the DAMIAO 43 series (DM-J4310, DM-J4340P and similar). Users can connect each motor to a PC via USB and use the official DAMIAO PC software for parameterisation, firmware updates, ID assignment and live diagnostics.
The board is part of the tool ecosystem around the Seeed reBot Arm B601-DM and is used in two typical scenarios: for the initial setup of each motor before the robotic arm is assembled (setting the motor ID, zero-point calibration, choice of control mode) and as a CAN interface during operation when a host PC without its own CAN card needs to communicate directly with the motor bus.
The board supports the full DAMIAO command set including MIT mode (position, velocity and torque commands in a single CAN packet), position mode and velocity mode. Power is supplied via USB; the connection to the motor bus uses the standard DAMIAO connectors. For custom development, Python libraries and ROS 1 / ROS 2 drivers are available.
Note: this board is designed as a commissioning and debug tool. For permanent operation of a complete robotic arm (e.g. reBot Arm B601-DM) with motor power supply, a separate power distribution board is also required - already included in the reBot Arm Body Motor Kit.
