Description

The reBot Arm B601-RS is a low-cost, fully open-source robotic arm with 6+1 degrees of freedom (6 axes plus gripper). It follows the principle of „true open source": hardware drawings (STEP files, CNC and 3D-printed parts), a complete bill of materials (BOM), a Python SDK and software for common frameworks are available free of charge to individual developers, students and educational institutions. The goal is to significantly lower the barrier to Physical AI and sim-to-real learning.

The arm is driven by the collinear direct-drive joints (QDD) from RobStride Dynamics – specifically 4× RS-00 and 3× RS-06 modules, designed for high torque, low noise and stable output. The Quasi-Direct-Drive technology enables force feedback and „force transparency": the arm positions precisely while responding naturally to external forces – ideal for teleoperation and imitation learning.

This kit is supplied pre-assembled including gripper (without power supply). A dedicated computer or controller is not integrated – control is performed via a USB-CAN adapter connected to a host PC or edge computer (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson). Supported frameworks include the Python SDK, ROS 1/2 with MoveIt, Pinocchio, Hugging Face LeRobot and NVIDIA Isaac Sim.
