Description

General

The Sabertooth 2x60A Dual Motorcontrollerboard is an very efficient driver module wich can be used in multiple ways espacially for robots based on wheels or chains up to 80kg. The Motorcontrollerboard is designed for a power consumption of 32A per DC-motor with a maximum power consumption of 64A.

Beneftis & External Encoder - Module

The Sabertooth 2x60A Dual Motorcontrollerboard is provided with an overcurrent- & overtemperature protection wich automatically puts the Sabertooth controller into safety mode when exposed to high currents. In addition to that the transistors are clocked with 32KHZ wich results in a very silent operation.

The Sabertooth Controller can furthermore be enhanced with a Motion Controller (Kangaroo x2) to higher the positioning accuracy even more. the Motion Controller, wich can also hold an Encoder or Potentiometer, only has to be plugged onto the controllerboard.

 


Controlling

Due to the microcontroller supported controlling the Sabertooth Dual 32A Regenerative Motorcontrollerboard can be controlled via PWM signals or with a serial / TTL interface. Both the PWM signal and the interface can be found in every common singel-board computers and Atmel & ST uC's.

The selection of the kind of signal, the adjustment of the adress and baudrate can be done with the switches that can be seen below. The full documentation regarding the configuration can be found in the data sheet.
