General

Sabertooth 2X5A R/C is a dual motor driver optimized specifically for use in remote control vehicles. It is suitable for small robots, cars and boats and especially good for the Antweight and Beetleweight classes of combat robots. It can supply two DC brushed motors with up to 5A each. Peak currents of 10A are possible for a few seconds. Thanks to overcurrent and overheating protection, you don't have to worry about killing the driver by accidentally stalling or connecting a motor that's too big.
This R/C version features an inversion channel and options for exponential control, auto-calibration, and integrated mixing. The mode of operation is set with the built-in DIP switches, so there are no jumpers to lose.

The Sabertooth is the first synchronous regenerative motor driver in its class. The regenerative topology means that your batteries are charged whenever you command your robot to slow down or reverse. Sabertooth also allows you to stop and reverse very quickly, giving your vehicle a fast and agile advantage.

Sabertooth has a built-in 5V BEC that can power a microcontroller or R/C receiver. Lithium cutoff mode allows Sabertooth to operate safely with lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries - the batteries with the highest energy density.

The Sabertooth's transistors are switched at supersonic speeds (32kHz) and therefore operate silently.

Using these motor drivers with poorly made AC adapters is not recommended. Use a battery or at least connect a battery in parallel to a DC power supply.
