The Sabertooth 25A Motorcontrollerboard is an very efficient driver module wich can be used in multiple ways espacially for robots based on wheels or chains up to 25kg. The Motorcontrollerboard is designed for a power consumption of 25A per DC-motor with a maximum power consumption of 45A.

The Sabertooth 25A Motorcontrollerboard is provided with an overcurrent- & overtemperature protection wich automatically puts the Sabertooth controller into safety mode when exposed to high currents. In addition to that the transistors are clocked with 32KHZ wich results in a very silent operation. The Sabertooth Controller can furthermore be enhanced with a Motion Controller (kangaroo x2) to higher the positioning accuracy even more. the Motion Controller, wich can also hold an quadrature Encoder or Potentiometer, only has to be plugged onto the controllerboard.
What are the benefits of an regenerative Motorcontroller?
Due to the decreasing size of robots / autonomous systems the space that is available for the voltage supply also decreases. For this reason the motorcontroller was designed to not only function as a drive for the brush motors but also to recover energy.
Due to the microcontroller supported controlling the Sabertooth 25A Regenerative Motorcontrollerboard can be controlled via PWM signals or with a serial / TTL interface. Both the PWM signal and the interface can be found in every common singel-board computers and Atmel & ST uC's.
