ArduCAM 12MP IMX477P HQ Camera

The ArduCAM team has released a series of camera modules for the Raspberry Pi, including 5MP and 8MP modules. They are fully compatible with the official version and are divided into Standard Version, Optimised Optical Performance Version, Miniature Spy Camera Version, NoIR Version, Motorised IR Cut Version and Programmable Motorised Focus Camera Version. These camera modules support all Raspberry Pi models and require a 15-to-22 pin cable or adapter to work with the Pi Zero.

The official Pi HQ camera is only available in one model. It doesn’t come with a lens and it is also not easy for the users to find a case. To solve these pain points, Arducam released this camera module, a customized IMX477 camera board with three hole pitches and a 6mm CS lens. And you can download the 3D files to print your case as you like. This camera module supports all Raspberry Pi and PC/laptop (need MIPI adapter board and USB camera shield, not included).

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE IMX477 MIPI LANES
The IMX477 camera module supports 4 lanes in hardware, but the 4-lane camera driver requires additional customization.

• Standard Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano/Xavier NX cannot physically support 4-lane connection (both have only 2-lane CSI connectors). Only the Raspberry Pi Compute Module and some third-party Jetson Carrier boards have 4-lane hardware support. Therefore, this is not a general necessity.
• For a 4-lane connection, additional work, especially camera drivers, are required besides the physical 4-lane connection. And the drivers are limited by the performance of the platform itself. For example, 4-Lane cannot unlock 4k video on the Raspberry Pi because the VideoCore does not currently support it. The Jetson Nano is also limited to some extent by its encoding capabilities. You need to make sure that you really need it.
