Description

Clearpath Robotics has announced a partnership with Boston Dynamics in 2020 to develop various add-ons & ROS packages for the very popular quadruped robot SPOT. The US manufacturer of course provides its own API as well as C++ interface, but Clearpath Robotics enables full simulation in RViz & Gazebo, as well as fast integration of third party components such as a Stereolabs ZED2 3D camera or an Ouster 3D LiDAR.

Software

Clearpath Robotics Inc. probably has the most ROS developers in the world, so they have developed a very high performance package. This is run on an included Mini ITX or NViDIA AGX, which is powered by the SPOT and communicates with the robot via Ethernet.
